What is cyber-stress?

“Cyber-stress” is the term used to describe the negative sensations and symptoms experienced by a person who engages in recreational, information or professional use of virtual reality (VR) displays, near-eye displays, personal video displays (PD) or head-mounted displays (HMD).

The symptoms of cyber-stress vary from person to person, and may include all or only some of the following:
  • Nausea
  • Vertigo
  • Blurred vision
  • Headache
  • Eyestrain
  • Dizziness
